Single or Annual Multi-trip Insurance?

The Single trip policy will give you cover for any one single trip. The duration of this trip may be up to 94 days.

The Annual Multi-trip policy gives you cover for as many trips as you want to take in a year, abroad or in the UK. Each trip can be up to a maximum of 31 days long.

Policy Start Date:

Single Trip - As soon as you purchase your Single Trip policy you will be protected against a cancellation. All other sections of cover commence when you leave home to begin your trip.

Annual Multi-trip – Choose your cover to start today. This will protect you against cancellation prior to your trip date.

Definition of Travel Destination:

Area 1 : Europe -
all countries west of the Ural Mountains, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, the Azores, Canary Islands, Madeira and Mediterranean islands.
Area 2 : Worldwide –
excluding USA, Canada and the Caribbean
Area 3 : Worldwide –
including USA, Canada and the Caribbean


Travelling As

Children (0-17):

Related children (including foster children) under 18 years at the date of taking out the policy and living at the same address as an insured adult. All insured children must travel with an insured adult.

'Young Adults' (18-22 in full time education):

Related children (including foster children) under 23 years at the date of taking out the policy, if still in full time education and living at the same address as an insured adult. All insured children must travel with an insured adult.

Couple:

Two adults who have been permanently living together at the same address for more than six months and who will be travelling together.

Family:

Two adult partners and their accompanying related children (under 18 years at the date of issue of the policy, or under 23 years if still in full time education and normally resident with an insured adult). Children will only be covered under the family policy if travelling with an insured adult.

Single Parent Family:

One adult and their accompanying related children (under 18 years at the date of issue of the policy, or under 23 years if still in full time education and normally resident with insured adult). The adult can travel independently. However, all insured children must travel with the insured adult.


Optional Cover

Winter Sports Optional Cover:

If you select this cover option and pay the additional premium, you will be covered for:

  • up to £500 for loss or damage to your own ski equipment;
  • up to £250 for loss of ski pack following injury or illness;
  • up to £250 for the hire of essential items if your ski equipment is delayed for over 8 hours;
  • up to £300 (£30 per day) for transport to an alternative area as a result of piste closure;
  • up to £250 for travel and accommodation if your trip is delayed for more than 10 hours due to avalanche or severe weather.

Excess Waiver Optional Cover:

If you select this cover option and pay the additional premium, you will save yourself the cost of paying the standard policy excess in the event of a claim.

Exclude Personal Possessions Cover:

You can reduce your premium if you wish to delete Personal Possessions cover. Please check your Home Contents policy first to ensure you have the appropriate cover.

Residency Definition:

Factor 50 Travel Insurance is only available to persons who are resident in the UK and who are registered with a General Practitioner in the UK.

For the purposes of Factor 50 Travel Insurance the definition of ‘UK’ is:

England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, The Scilly Isles, The Channel Islands, The Isle of Man and other offshore islands.
